STRATFORD, This Day

Dull, but fine weather, was experienced for the meeting of the Stratford Racing Club, authorised by an additional permit. The track' was firm and there was an excellent attendance. The totalisator handled £77,437 10/-, in comparison with £9,281 for seven races in April, 1933. Trial Stakes, of 100 sovs; five furlongs.—(l) Eagle’s Eye, 8.0, 1; (3) Changa, 8.7, 2; (2) Glenthawn, 8.7, 3. River Feale, Roscranna and Swift Sand were scratched. A length; half a length. Time—l.l4 1-5.

Flying Handicap, of 170 sovs; six furlongs.—(l) Lady Kyra, car. 8.13, 1; (4) Plato, 8.8, 2; (3) Gold Mission, car. 7.12, 3. Friesland and Airing were scratched. Half a length each way. Time —1.15.

St. Patrick’s Handicap, of 220 sovs; one mile and a quarter.—(2) Taitoru, 8.10, 1; (5) Royal Secret, car. 7.9, 2; (1) Friesland, car. 8.13, 3. Onewheta and Aussie Ra were scratched. Half a length each way. Time —2.12 1-5. , A. W. Budge Memorial Hack Handicap, of 160 sovs, and trophy valued 20 sovs; nine furlongs.—(l) Reipar, car. 8.6, 1; (3) Sanhedrin, 8.2, 2; (4) Tail Light, 8.4, 3. Glenthawn and Silver Gold were scratched. A head; threequarters of a length. Time—l.s7 1-5. Juvenile Handicap, of 125 sovs; five furlongs.— (1) Wild Flower. 9.1, 1; (4) Gaily, 7.12, 2; (3) Gay Step, 7.7, 3, Seaham was scratched. Two lengths and a half; a head. Time —1.3 2-5. Highweight Handicap, of 145 sovs; about seven furlongs.— (4) Bantry. 3.0, 1; (5) Erebus. 8.0, 2; (1) Onewhetu. 9.10, 3. International, Refresher, Moatoa and Gold Mission were scratched. A head each way. Time —1.32 2-5. Farewell Handicap, of 130 sovs; six furlongs.—Dancing Lady, 8.2, 1; Airing. 9.0, 2.
