MOUNTAIN-TRAVERSE. —A successful climb of Mounts Wilszek and Elie de Beaumont was made during the Christmas holidays by Messrs D. A. Carty, of the New Zealand Alpine Club, and J. Cox and G. Somerville, two guides. The traverse, the first made, was from the west, and Wilczek has been climbed only once before.
