SHOT BY BEST FRIEND ON EVE OF WEDDING
Received 10 a.m.) n NEW YORK, December 8.
A message from Lansing, Michigan, reports that Miss Elizabeth Giltner, aged 25, daughter of a State college dean, was shot dead today at her home v/hile addressing invitations to her wedding, which was to have taken place on Saturday to Captain Babcock of the United States Army. According to the police, Miss Giltner’s closest friend, Miss Hope Morgan, aged 25, confessed to the, murder and said she had acted on impulse, adding;
“I do not know why 1 did it/’ Both the young women were socially prominent. After a medical examination, Miss Morgan was stated to be suffering from dementia praecox. She admitted having carried her father’s pistol for a year under an inward urge to kill someone.
/ sanity commission will be appointed to "dispose of the case.
