OTAURU KING TAKES HURDLES [Per Press Association. Copyright .] WCODVILLE, This Day. The Woodville District Jockey Club’s meeting was opened today in fine weather with a large attendance. Track conditions were excellent. Results;— Manga-Atua Hurdles, of 90 sovs; one mile and a half.—(l) Otaura King, 9.13, 1; (3) Tahoma. 9.0, 2; (2) Blue Tiger, 10.5, 3. Lord Hereford and Miss Hushabye were scratched. Three-quarters of a length; a neck. Time—2.4o. Maiden Stakes, of IDO sovs; weight 8.11; five furlongs and a-half.—(2) Black Frost, 1; (10) Count Siegfried, 2; (16) Nereus, 3. Scratched: Perfect Lady, Whistle Pinkie, People’s Idol. Length; neck.' Time: 1.81-5.
Belton Handicap, of 140 soys; one mile and a-quarter. — (1). Martara. 7.11, 1; (3) Werohia, 8.9, 2; (5) Alchemic, 7.13. 3. All started. Time; 2.8 3-5.
PLACINGS AT ASCOT RACES
(Received 2 p.m.) SYDNEY, -This Day. At the Ascot races yesterday, Limoux ran second in the Ascot Handicap, and Collstar second in the Mascot Flying Mile. King’s Folk was unplaced in the first division of the Three and Four-year-old Handicap; and Tam-o’-shanter was unplaced in the second division. Cherry King was unplaced in the second division of the Flying Handicap.
