One great disadvantage at Ahipara lies in the absence of any kind of shelter, and the same thing applies on that part of the beach .approached from Waipapakauri. Not the slightest attempt has been made so far to plant any trees, and this is a matter which could well be taken up by the County Council and Town Board. The Rev. N. C. Hall, of Kaikohe, conducted the evening service at the Presbyterian Church at Kaitaia on Sunday, having exchanged pulpits with the Rev. W. H. Nicholas. There was a very large congregation, and Mr Hall gave a forceful address on the words: “God has not given you the spirit of fear, but of power and love and a sound mind.” Before the address. Mr Hall read a message from the Presbytery relating to the charge, in which much satisfaction was expressed at the work the Rev. Nicholas and Mrs Nicholas are doing in the 'Pariah, particular reference (beinvg made to the several women’s organisations and the work amongst the voting people.
