THE “FLYING SCOTSMAN” SPEEDING NORTH. —The London and North-Eastern Railway express, known as the “Flying Scotsman,” speeding over Welwyn Viaduct, Hants, on its journey from King’s Cross, London, to Edinburgh, Scotland, a distance of 329.7 miles, the world’s longest scheduled non-stop run. The journey up till recently took 450 minutes, but this has been reduced under the new winter time-table by 25 minutes.
