FENCE FOR GRAFTON BRIDGE

I Special to "Northern Advocate.”! AUCKLAND, This Day.

A special meeting of the finance committee of the Auckland City Council last night decided to recommend to the works committee the erection of a guard fence on the Grafton Bridge parapet. In making the announcement, the Mayor, Mr Ernest Davis, said the framing would consist of steel channel uprights bolted to the concrete balustrading, the iron angle framing of which would be supported by crimped wire-netting panels. It would be four feet above the top of the parapet, making a height of Bft. 9in. from the footpath level. At the top angle of. the framing two strands of barbed wire would be secured. The protection would be erected along 600 feet of the parapet on both sides.
