AIR AMBULANCE FOR AUCKLAND

F Special to “Northern Advocate .’M AUCKLAND, This Day.

The Auckland Aero Club has ordered a modern ambulance aeroplane, and within a few weeks will be operating a machine capable of bringing the sick and injured in remote country districts within easy reach of skilled medical advice in Auckland. The increased use made of the club's Puss Moth for ambulance purposes has stressed' the necessity for the new machine. During the past two years the Puss Moth has been flown to and from various; parts of the Dominion, transporting patients unable to travel by motor ambulance or train. It is, however, not ideal for the purpose. The new machine will be built of metal with a roomy interior, and capable of a cruising speed of 115 m.p.h. It will be operated by the Auckland Aero Club, and the ambulance organisation will be provided by the St. John Ambulance Association.
