TRAVELLED TOO FAST
THREE MOTORISTS BEFORE
COURT
Three cases of motorists exceeding the speed limit of 30 miles an hour came before Mr G. N. Morris, S.M., at the Whangarei Magistrate’s Court this morning.
Thomas Clements, of Otahuhu, the inspector, Mr J. H. Ashton, said, drove down Bank Street at 35 miles an hour, and. when questioned, said that he was not aware of his speed. Defendant was a borough councillor.
A fine of £2 and costs 10/ was imposed. '
John Maitland Webb was fined a similar amount, his speed being 35 to 40 miles an hour on race day.
A. F. Baker, cn race day, travelled from Aubrey to Grey Streets at 36 to 40 miles an hour. The inspcetor said defendant was usually a careful driver and he had had no trouble with him. A similar fine was imposed.
