KAIWAKA
The Kaiwaka Plunket Society held a general meeting in the hall, on November 5, when there was an attendance of 18 ladies. Mrs Leslie, the president, extended a welcome. Mr Lindsay (Maungaturoto) gave an iced cake which, it has been decided, will be used for a weight-guessing competition, in aid of the society. The main business was the arranging for a social and dance next month in aid of the society’s funds. Mrs Haeusler, of Mount Eden, is the guest of Mrs McClean, at Kaiwaka, for a few weeks. Mr Leslie, Sen., of Kaiwaka, is on a health holiday tour to Dunedin. Miss Dow, of Mount Eden, is the guest of Mr and Mrs A. Gibbons and the Misses Gibbons, Kaiwaka. Mrs E. Hall, of Kaiwaka, is visiting Napier, where she intends spending a few weeks.
