UNREGISTERED SHED
MILK SUPPLIED TO CUSTOMER
A fine of £2 10/ and costs 10/ was imposed on Carl Theodore Rasmussen at the Whangarei Police Court this morning when he was charged that, being the occupier of a cow shed, he supplied milk for human consumption, the premises not being registered as a dairy.
The inspector said that he had received a complaint that a boy was selling milk, this being delivered on a bicycle. He ascertained that the milk was Rasmussen’s, but he was not in a big way, only a few bottles a day being delivered. Rasmussen said that he had a small property and was supplying the factory. Several relations and friends asked him to supply them with milk. Defendant said that it was strange that he could not sell cream, but could make it into butter under any circumstances and dispose of it. In reply to Mr G. N. Morris, S.M., defendant said he had had about 10 customers, but he was not supplying them now.
