COUNTER PATROL WINS BEND IGO CUP

MELBOURNE. November 29.
Record crowds yesterday attended the Bendigo Cup meeting, which was held on a Saturday for the first time. The Bendigo Gup, one of the most historic races in Australia, resulted in a win for Counter Patrol. Gay Sheik was third in the Farewell. Results:— Bendigo Cup, of 650 sovs, and trophy valued at 50 sovs; one mile, three furlongs.—Counter Patrol, 8.5 (H. Patchings), 1; Frill Prince, 7.8 (J. O’Brien), 2; Benthos, 7.2 (E. Preston), 3. Twelve started. A neck; threequarters of a length. Time—2.l9 equal, to course record. WIN FOR JAMIESON.
At the Moorefield meeting J. T. Jamieson had his first win since resuming training when the Limond— Drastic colt, Lynch Law, convincingly won the Juvenile Stakes for two-year-old colts and geldings. Lynch Law, who was having his first race, outclassed the field and won easing up. Dutiful was fourth in the second division of the Flying Welter, in which Edible was unplaced.
