After spending the winter in Whangarei, Mr ahd Mrs'McMillan,'accompanied by Mrs Colthart, left by the express on Tuesday for their home in Christchurch. While in Whangarei, they were the guests of Mrs McMillan’s brother and sister-in-law, -Mr aqdMrs W.: Colthart. ' . : M SI • SI SI '

The supper room of the Town Hall was the scene of much merriment on Tuesday night, when the members of the Whangarei Business and Professional Women’s Round-table Club held a fancy dress party. Prizes for the most points: gained during the evening for the games and competitions were won by Misses Keene, Cullen and Blumhardt. 0 ® Si H

Last evening, Mr W. Andrews and Miss C. Goodwill were honoured by the guests of the Hotel Windsor on the eve of their forthcoming marriage. Mr W. M. Yarrow presided over a gathering of 36. A very pleasant supper was prepared by the Windsor staff, and Mr Yarrow on behalf of those .present, presented the young couple with a handsome silver teapot. Mr Andrews responded and the singing of “For They * Are Jolly Good Fellows” J brought - a much enjoyed evening to a close.';!! ; .
