ALL-DAY BATTLE
GOVERNMENT CLAIMS SUCCESS

LONDON, October 30
A battle was waging all day south of Madrid. The Government claims to have recaptured Torrejon, Velasco, Talzada, Sensena and other towns, and to have penetrated four miles into General Franco’s line on a two-mile front.
The Government, says a Madrid despatch, is reinforcing counter-Blows from the capital, driving out the insurgents from important positions. The loyalists are aided by tanks and planes, in both of which they have been previously lacking.
