Macadam Centennial
The centenary of the death of John Loudon Macadam takes place on November 26. The committee of the Institution of Municipal and County Engineers is proposing to erect a plaque in Ayr, where Macadam once lived, and to inaugurate a special prize to be competed for by future road engineers in memory of this great pioneer of road development.
