ITALY AND GERMANY GET TOGETHER
(Received 1.30 pirn.) LONDON, October 22
The first fruit of the visit to Germany of the Italian Foreign Minister, Count Ciano, is a joint Italo-German scheme for exchange of youth leaders to enable them to acquire experience of youth movements in their countries. The Berlin correspondent of the “Telegraph” says well-informed circles consider it a mistake to attach importance to the Count’s visit. There are too many differences between Italy and Germany to make alliance possible. The idea is to frighten Britain and France with the bogey of an ItaloGerman rapprochment. The Nazis, it is said, prefer the friendship of Britain.
