KAURI

BATCHELOR GIRLS’ BALL. The batchelor girls of Kauri held their annual ball recently. Despite attractions elsewhere, there was a large attendance, and the function was most enjoyable. The hall was tastefully decorated with red, blue and gold streamers, balloons, and nikau, and the floor was in excellent condition. The duties of M.C. were carried out by Misses Iris Codling and R. Bell, assisted by Mr W. McKenzie. Novelty dances added variety to the programme, which commenced with the Grand March. The prizes for a card one-step were annexed by Miss J. McInnes and Mr A. Brott. The spot foxtrot was won by Miss B. Thorley, partnered by Mr Ben George, and a Month Carlo- wait? by Mr Ray Doel and Miss Alach. A twilight confetti waltz caused much amusement.
