SHIELD AND CUP RETAINED

INTER-CLUB RIFLE SHOOTING

It v/as quite a big week-end' on the Omana and Whangarei Rifle Ranges, two inter-club matches being fired. The Marsden Club (Omana unit), withstood a challenge from Unutoki in a ten-shot match over the 200 and 300 yards ranges. Fair conditions prevailed. Detailed scores are:

Mr B. L. Smith has donated a shield for handicap shooting, open to anybody in Northland. The trophy will be competed for at the forthcoming Labour Day meeting and can be won outright with three successive wins, or four at intervals.

All proceeds of the competition, for which the entrance fee is 2/6, are to be handed over to the Crippled Children’s Fund and the shield has been appropriately named.
