Both markets very firm. A BIG PAY OUT [Special to “Northern Advocate DARGAVILLE, This Day. This month Ruawai and Northern Wairoa Dairy Companies are paying out a total of £78,973 deferred payment on last season’s butter to 1,234 suppliers. In addition, advances for June butterfat will also be paid. Details arc;—Northern Wairoa, 920 suppliers, £51,722; Ruawai, 314 suppliers. £27,251. One supplier at Ruawai will receive approximately £3OO. Final figures bring the average pay-out to just over 1/-. HOKIANGA DAIRY CO.’S YEAR The unseasonable weather last season resulted in the output of the Hokianga Co-op. Dairy Company falling by 187 tons to 1,401 tons. The make in the 1921 season was 343 tons. The higher prices obtained during the 1935-36 season more than counterbalanced the decline in production, £10,439 more being received for butterfat sales. When the surplus of £20.121. representing 1.882 d per lb, is distributed, the average payment over all grades will be 11.546 d for the season. With .578 d per lb added for cream cartage, the- average payment at the factory is 12.124 d per lb.
It is proposed to make deferred payments as follows: June supply, 3.33 d per lb; February, 2.83 d; July, August, March and April, 2.33; September, October, November, December, January and May, 1.33 d. The grade for finest butter rose to 80.84 per cent. The number of suppliers decreased by 20.
