The death is recorded of Lord Darling. famous as the wittiest Judge on the English bench, and well-known as an author and poet. He was aged 86.
Sir Harry Lauder, when the last mail left England, was appearing with great success in Dublin. He was described as “sprightlier, more humorous, and pawkier than ever.”
Mr Alan M. Hart, of Auckland, arrived today to take over the chiropractic practice of the Misses Barr and Barr. Mr Hart will commence practice in the A.M.P. Buildings on Monday next, June 1.
A London cable states that Dr J. B. Condliffe, formerly of Canterbury College, New Zealand, and later of the Economic Intelligence Service of the League of Nations, has been appointed the Chair of Commerce at London University, tenable at the London School of Economics.
