The weather was perfect for training at Ellersjie this morning,* and there was a fair amount of galloping. No. 2 grass was open, and the going was' in first-rate order. Fleetwind ran home from the halfmile post in 555, doing it very com* foftably. Roman Mascot was allotted a round, which took 1.47 1-5, the last six furlongs being covered in 1.19 3-5. This mare is beginning to display something like her old form. Gold Spear was again responsible for a sound effort in traversing six furlongs in 1.16 1-5. He covered the last half-mile in 525, and was travelling well at the finish. Teddy Boy strode over half a mile in 52 4-ss. He, is in good order for his engagements at Rotorua. Master Val was given an easy five furlongs, which he covered in 1.10 1-5. Tea Chat and Knight of Australia, after running their first three furlongs in 41 1-5, completed seven in 1.36. Knight of Australia is coming on in good style. Lady Yule ran half a mile very easily in 575.

The best effort of the morning was that of Red Flame, who got to the end of seven furlongs in 1.29 4-5. He covered the last six furlongs in 1.17, and finished up much better than usual. Courthaven ran the last half-mile of her work in 535. This mare also is steadily improving. Psychologist reeled off half a mile in 50s. He ran the first furlong in 12 3-ss, and was running on at the end.

Sir Abb. after taking 39 l-5s for his first three furlongs, covered six in 1.18.
