TWO-FOLD ANXIETY
ILLNESS AND ABSENCE
EXPERIENCES OF WAIOTIRA FAMILY
The flooding last week-end gave cause for a twofold anxiety in a Waiotira home. Mr M. Rountree, who carts the cream in the district, was prevented from returning home on Saturday night, and. with the tempest raging at its height and no means of communication, his family became concerned at his prolonged absence. That evening, too, Miss Iris Rountree went down with an acute attack of appendicitis.
Fortunately, her sister. Miss A. Rountree, who resigned last month after serving the Whangarei Hospital Board as a nurse and sister for 14 years, was at home, and was able to
lend assistance,
On Sunday morning the floods had abated sufficiently for Mr Rountree to return, and his daughter was immediately rushed to the Whangarei District Hospital, where she was operated upon within a'very short time. Miss Rountre is making an excellent recovery.
