STRIKE AT PORT KEMBLA
ALL UNIONISTS WITHDRAW. 3200 MEN AFFECTED. (Received 1 • p.m.) SYDNEY, This Day. All unionists at Port Kembla withdrew from employment this morning. About 3200 men are affected,' A compulsory private conference between the parties to the dispute was held today by Mr Justice Cantor, of the Industrial Commission. No settlement was reached. Referring to the matter at the opening of the court, his Honour said that the men should have brought their claims before the Industrial Commission, instead of v/hich they sought to impose their own conditions. He advised the men to resume work and present their claims to the commission, thus avoiding further heavy loss.
