PERSONAL. Mr A. J. Graham and daughters returned from Russell on Saturday after an enjoyable month at the seaside. Mrs B. Jones and family are home from Tongariro. Mrs W. J. Bell and family returned last week after spending a few days at Waipu Cove.
Miss M. Graham has accepted a posi-
tion at Opua, where she will be assistant teacher at the local school, and
commences duties this week
Miss M. Wilson is home from Auckland, where she has been spending a holiday. Mrs A. McDonald paid a short visit to Auckland last week, and returned home on Wednesday. Miss Jean Ay ton has been spending a few days at Whananaki.
Mrs Carlin, with her small grandson, has been the guest of her daughter, Mrs R. C. Wilson.
Mr and Mrs Slaney and family' arrived home from Whananaki on Monday.
Mrs A. Drever and family arrived back from Kohumaru last week. Among the visitors to Kauri this week were old friends in the person of Mr and Mrs H. W. Coles, of Otorohanga, who are visiting friends and relatives in the North. Combined Picnic.
A most enjoyable picnic was held in Mr A. Drever’s paddock last Wednesday, when the members of the Kauri. Kamo and Hikurangi branches of the Presbyterian Church held a combined picnic. All roads led to Kauri, and there was a large crowd present. The programme consisted of fiat races, novelty competitions, the ever-popular lollie scrambles, etc., and j lots of fun was assured for everyone.
