ABYSSINIAN SOLDIERS
DISEASED AND HUNGRY [“The Times” Cable .l (Received 1 p.m.) LONDON, February 3. The Stockholm correspondent of “The Times,” writing from Addis Ababa on Januai'y 13, stated that Dr. Eric Smith, a member of the Swedish ambulance unit, asserted that the men of Ras Desta’s army were dying of starvation. The doctor added that 3000 soldiers were ill, there had been 12,000 desertions in 10 days, and that malaria and dysentery were rife.
