“ADVOCATE” Gets The News
Once again, owing to the still complete dislocation of telephonic and telegraphic communications between Whangarei, Auckland and southern centres, the enterprise of the Northern Publishing Company has provided readers with an “Advocate,” which contains a full summary of the world’s news. When it was found impossible to establish communication with Auckland this morning, it yfas decided again to hire an aeroplane to bring by air the news, which would normally have come through the usual avenues. The plane arrived shortly before midday, and the full battery of the “Advocate” linotype plant worked straight through to publishing time, to provide readers with full details of the day’s news.
