18 FEET UNDER WATER
Maoris, residing on the Rangiahua flats, had to leave home on Saturday night, and swim through the swirling waters to Mr A. Faithfull’s house. They were sheltered for the night on the verandah. At the flood’s height, Rangiahua was inundated to a depth of 18 feet.
