ANOTHER MOVE
MULTIPLE AND CHAIN STORES The Whangarei promoters of the move to control chain and multiple store trading today received the following telegram from Feilding: “Noticed report of businessmen on chain stores. A massed petition originated by New Zealand Retail Traders has been in full swing for the last three weeks. Signatures are 100 per cent. I will' arrive at Whangarei within 14 days, and hope for full support. A staff of men are all travelling North.” The telegram was signed by Mr Arthur Wylie as organiser.
