VISITING SOUTH ISLAND
MINISTERS OF PUBLIC WORKS AND MINES [Per Press Association. —CovyrlghtJ WELLINGTON, This Day. The Hon. R. Semple, Minister of Public Works, and the Hon. P. C. Webb, Minister of Mines, in corripany with departmental advisers, will leave tonight for Nelson to start a fortnight’s tour of the northern portion of the South Island. During their visit the Ministers will inspect the mining areas of the West Coast and various railway lines, including the unfinished South Island main trunk. Under the present itinerary they are scheduled to reach Westport on January 13, and Greymouth on January 15. From Greymouth they will go to South Westland to view the roads, and so on. They will reach Christchurch on January 23, and leave the same day for Kaikoura, inspecting the main trunk railway construction en route. The party will continue to Blenheim and Picton, and is expected back in Wellington on January 25.
