CHAMPIONSHIP AT CHRISTCHURCH POST-SECTIONAL PLAY THE SINGLES MATCHES. [Per Press Association.—Copy right. ] CHRISTCHURCH, This Day. Four rounds of post-sectional play in the singles championship at the New Zealand bowling tournament yesterday left nine players to contest the concluding rounds. Of these, eight had suffered one defeat, but one, a young player, H. C. Alloo, of Owaka, still had two lives. A shatp shower of rain just before play began made the greens tricky, but in - the early afternoon the sun came out and the greens were by then in almost perfect order. After yesterday’s play the nine .left in the singles are:— Two lives.—H. C. Alloo (Owaka). One life.~A. Mclnnes (Temuka), A. P. King (Elmwood), F. D. Whibley (Greymouth), C. E. Hardley (West End, Auckland), J. J. Kennerley (Spreydon), F. Livingstone (Onehunga), W. Bremner (West End, Auckland), and M. Walker (Auckland). The concluding games in the singles will be played as the men are available after sectional play has been finalised in the rinks competition. The following is the draw made: —Alloo v. Mclnnes, King v. Whibley, Hardley, a bye; Kennerley v. Livingstone, Bremner v. Walker. The results of yesterday’s play were; St. Alban’s Green—Two Lifers.

First Round. —King (Elmwood) 23, Hardley (West End, Auckland), 11; Martin (Sumner) 21, Manning (Timaru), 16; Ryan (United) 18, Grant (Dunedin),'l7; Mclnnes (Temuka) 20, Shaw (Canterbury) 15; Alloo (Owaka) 16, Bain (Blenheim) 15; Whibley (Greymouth) 21, Spearman (Sydenham) 17; Dobbs (Christchurch), a bye. Second Round. —King, a bye; Martin 24, Ryan 18; Alloo 19, Mclnnes 17; Whibley 19, Dobbs 12; Hardley 20, Manning 10; Shaw 25, Grant 11; Bain 17, Spearman 16, Maiming. Spearman and Grant were eliminated. Martin, Alloo, Whibley and King still had two lives at the end of the round. Third Round. —Alloo 20, Martin 9; Whibley 22, King 14; Hardley 20, Shaw 9; Ryan 17, Bain 15; Mclnnes 19, Dobbs 14. Alloo and Whibley still had two lives at the end of the round. Shaw, Bain and Dobbs were eliminated. '

Fourth Round.—Hardley 18, Whibley 9; King 17, Martin 13; Mclnnes 20. Ryan 18. Martin and Ryan were eliminated. Whibley had still one life. Barrington Green —Two Lifers. First Round.—McNish (Canterbury), 26, D. Dickinson (Avon, Stratford), 11; Livingstone (Onehunga) 24, Burns (Edgware), 12.

One L Lifers. First Round—Kindle (Balmacewan) 19, Ainger (Christchurch), 15; Kennerley (Spreydon) 19, Jeffery (Awamoa) 16;-French (West Harbour) 26, Cross (Isle of Wight) 12; Cameron (St. Kilda) 16, Hayward (St. Alban’s), II; Maddren (Cashmere) 19, Lister (Kaitoa, Timaru) 17; Gardiner (Dunedin) 25, Foster (Phoenix) 10. The following were eliminated: Ainger, Jeffery, Cross, Hayward, Lister, Foster. Second Round. —Livingstone 16, McNish 10; Kennerley 21, Hindle 19; French 19, Cameron 17; Gardiner 23, Maddren 15; Dickinson 21, Burns 13. Hindle, Cameron, Maddren and Burns were eliminated. McNish, who had begun the first round as a two-lifer and had won his first-round game, had still one life left, and Livingstone was still a two-lifer. Third Round.—Kennerley 23, Livingstone 18; French 18, Gardiner 15; Dickinson 27, McNish 8. McNish and Gardiner were eliminated. Fourth Round.—Kennerley 19, French 9; Livingstone 18, Dickinson 12. French and Dickinson were eliminated, leaving Kennerley and Livingstone with one life each. Canterbury Green —One Lifers. The following were eliminated: Stephenson, Arnott, Nicol, Turpin, Smith, Broughton, Elsom, Robertson.

Second Round.—Walker 23, Edwards 10; Veitch 20, Bendall 6; Hinchcliff 16, Spear 14; Lambeth 18, Hampton 12. Edwards, Bendall, Spear and Hampton were eliminated. Third Round. —Walker 21, Lambeth 13; Hinchcliff 22, Veitch 17. Veitch and Lambeth were eliminated. Fourth Round.—Walker 21, Hinchcliff 21. Hinchcliff was eliminated, leaving Walker as the winner of the post-sectional play on that green, and bringing him into the concluding games before the finals next week. United Green—One Lifers. First Round. —Easton (Dunedin) 19, Maddren (Christchurch) 18; Bremner (West End, Auckland) 16, O’Neill (Blenheim) 10; Williams (Sumner) 21, Thomas (Rpslyn) 14; Brown (Beckenham) 15, Dickson (Wellington) 14; McCormack (Linwood) 19, Kerr (Onehunga) 13; Hutchinson (Logan Park) 22, Austin (Cromwell) 13; Keast (North End, Invercargill) 18, Pattrick (New Brighton) 17; Anderson (Dunedin) 19, Cook (Avon, Stratford) 13. Following were eliminated: Maddren, O’Neill, ThomaSj Dickson, Kerr, Austin, Cook, Pattrick, Second Round—Bremner 18. Easton 16; Brown 18, Williams 7; McCormack 21, Hutchinson 17; Keast 28. Anderson 9. Anderson, Hutchinson, Easton and Williams were eliminated.

Third Round. —Bremner 30, Brown 10; McCoi’mack 20, Keast 11. Brown and Keast were eliminated. Fourth Round. —Bremner 19, McCormack 17. McCormack was eliminated, leaving Bremner the winner of the section.
