DECLINE IN VALUES FOR COARSER LOTS HOW THE PRICES WENT. [Per Press Association. — Copyright.'] WELLINGTON, This Day. The first Wellington wool sale of the season began this morning with a good competition. The total offering was 30,353 bales. The bidding was brisk for fine wools, which were equal to Napier prices for identical quality, but coarser and rougher wools were below Napier by a full farthing. There was not the quantity of fine hoggets sent in to this sale as at Napier. Some prices made were;—Merino, 16d to 17',d; Southdown, 12d to 16d; Southdown lambs, to IOJd, and a comeback made up to 16.[d; halfbreds, lOd to IS.fd, with a few lots at 15Jd; Ihree-quarter-breds. Bbd to 13Jd; fleecy crossbred. 7d to 8d; fine hoggets, lOd to lid; Southdown lambs, 8d to Ibid, and 9d to 9/Jd for halfbred lambs; pieces and bellies, 4-? d to 6£d, and to 9d for halfbred pieces: necks, 8d to 101 d; crutchings. s£d to 7£-d.
