ANNUAL WHANGAREI MEETING. The annual general meeting ,of the Whangarei Daffodil Society was held in the Presbyterian Hall last evening, when the president, Mr R. ( H. Allan, presided over a good attendance of members. The secretary’s report reviewed the activities of the season which had been a most successful one. The balance sheet presented by the treasurer showed that after paying £3 5s 6d to the Ladies’ Guild, the society finished the year with a credit balance; of £5 10s 2d. The meeting again recommended to the incoming committee that displays of blooms be held both before and after the annual show and it was also decided to arrange a . special entertainment to raise funds to purchase vases for the society. Notice of motion was given by the Rev. Elliott for the date of the annual show to be - altered to the first Thursday and Friday in September in each year. * • Election of officers resulted as follows: —Patron, Rev. W. Elliott (reelected); president, Mr R. H. Allan (re-elected); after a ballot was taken Mr R. B. Miller and Miss E. S. Carruth were elected vice-presidents; secretary, Mr H. G. Carruth (re-elect-ed) ; treasurer, Mr T. S. E. Sloane (reelected); auditor, Mr I. F. McKenzie (re-elected).

After a ballot was taken the following committee was elected:—Mrs Sharman, Mrs C. Clark, Miss Drummond and Messrs R. Wood and G. W. Miller. * .
