A KEEN DEMAND [Per Press Association. — Copyright.] HAMILTON, This Day. G. W. Vercoe and Co., Ltd., held their stock sale at Te Kauwhata on Monday, when a heavy yarding of fat. pigs came forward. There was a keen demand .throughout. Heavy baconers sbld from £2 19/ to £3 3/; mediumweight, £2 14/ to £2 18/; lights £2 11/ to £2 13/; heavy porkers, £2 8/_. to £2 10/; mediumweight, 39/ to £2 6/; light, 35/ to 38/; choppers, to £2 10/. Store pigs were penned in large numbers, and, as in the case of fat pigs, a ready sale resulted at rates in advance of those of the previous week. Good stores sold from 29/ to 33/; others, 25/ to 28/; slips, 21/ to 24/; best weaners, 17/ to 20/6; others, 14/ to 16/; sows, in pig, to £2 12/. A good entfy of cattle sold at late rates. Heavy fat Jersey cows sold from £5 to £6; lighter* £4 to £4 15/; light, £2 15/ to £3 10/; forwardconditioned, Friesian and Shorthorn bOws, £2 10/ to £3 5/; low-condition-ed, young Shorthorn cows, to £2B/; Jersey and ilersey cross, in calf, heifers, £3 15/ to £3 17/; heavy boners, 32/ to 3i/) others,' 15/to 26/; yearling Jersey bulls, to £5; potter'bulls, to £4 7/; backward Jersey and Jersey cross, in-calf heifers, £3 15/ to £4 10/; ShorthOrn-cross cows, early calvers, £4 to £5.
