WHAU VALLEY CLUB ANNUAL TEAMS MATCH. . WIN;. FOR CAPTAIN’S SIDE, The annual match between teams chosen by the president and captain of the; Whau Valley Golf Club, played during theweek-end, resulted in a convincing win for the captain’s side. 'llesulfs (president’s team named first) were:— Chalrxiers beat Sheriff; Dunning beat Dennis; Martin and McLeod were all square; Moffitt lost to Crawford; Wilson beat Georgesbn; Henrickson lost ,to Kokich; Hughes, lost to Smith; Gellert lost to BirchaH; Jenkins lost to Renton; Mclvor lost to Tucker; Holloway, .beat Thomson by default; Kyle and Price were all square; Delugar lost ,to Kay; Stewart lost to Stevenson. Chalmers and Dunning lost to Sheriff and Dennis; Martin and Moffitt lost to McLeod and Crawford; Wilson and Henrickson and Georgeson and Kokich finished all square; Hughes and Gellert beat Holloway and Birchall; Jenkins and Mclvor lost to Tucker and Renton; Kyle and Delugar lost to Price and Kay; Stewart and Brown lost to Stevenson and Hallett. The captain’s side won 13 matches, to the president’s five, while three finished all square. LADIES’ MATCH. At the same time a match was played between teams selected by the president and vice-president of the Ladies’ Club. Results (president’s team first) were:-r-Miss Stewart and Mrs McKinnon lost to Mrs Martin and Miss McPhee; Misses Holman and Philips beat Mrs Brown and Mrs McLeod; Misses Thomson and Tucker beat Mrs Birnie and Miss Sloane; Mrs Mac Kay and Miss McDonald beat Mrs Wilson and Mrs Bay ley; Miss Whiteman and Mrs Morgan lost to Mrs Parkes and Miss Fleming; Mrs Pickering and Mrs Moffitt beat Miss Henderson and Mrs McKinnon.
The president’s side won four of the six matches. WHANG ARE I MEN’S CLUB BOGEY MATCH RESULTS. Following a play-off between Dr. Buckley, Thomson and Sheen, who had tied in the captain’s trophy bogey at the Mt. Denby. Club, Sheen became the winner, returning a card of two up. ■ A four ball best ball bogey match resulted in a win for Gray and Lynch, six up. Others well placed were: Sheen and Gillespie five up; Bevins and Marshall . 3 up; Christiansen and Dr. Good 1 up. WHANG ARE I LADIES CLUB HANDICAP CONTINUES. In the third round of the Whangarei Ladies’ Club handicap competition, the best card was returned by Mrs G. Robertson 94 —19—75. Next in order were: Miss J. Mclntosh 95 —19 —76; Mrs Dyer 94—18—76; and Miss Rishworth 92—16—76.
