Facing a charge of driving a motor vehicle in a manner, which, having regard to air the circumstances, might have been dangerous to the public, Kenneth Webb (Mr Trimmer), was fined £2 and costs 10/ at the Whangarei Police Court this morning. Senior-Sergeant Finch said that on March 29, Webb was driving on the Onerahi Road when he collided with a motor cycle. The cyclist had lost on arm as a result. Webb said there was sun in his eyes and also a low fog, and he could not see. Mr Trimmer said that it was in the early morning and there were wisps of fog about. As a result Webb found himself a little on the wrong side of the road. The motor cyclist had a boy on the pillion and the boy jumped off when he saw the car, causing the cycle to jump.
