UNEMPLOYED SUBSIDIES
MONEY DOUBLED. SATISFACTION AT HAMILTON. [Special to “Northern Advocate.”} HAMILTON, This Day. Satisfaction that the Unemployment Board had decided to increase sub- ( sidles to 100 per cent for any works carried out under the 4b scheme on the various properties of the Waikato Land Settlement Society was expressed today by Mr D. V. Bryant, the society’s founder. In the past the society has received subsidies under this scheme up to 60 per cent. Mr Bryant said no request for an increased subsidy had been made, and he considered the Government should be commended for the great encouragement and practical assistance that had been given.
