TO MAKE WAY FOR A NEW GOVERNMENT BUILDING.—The old block of buildings between Maginnity Street and Stout Street, Wellington, recently used as P. and T. Department linesmen’s store, is now being pulled down to make room for a proposed block of new Government offices. The building in the background with the semi-circular roof was once the city’s ■ drill hall, and formed part of the block of buildings which comprised the Industrial Exhibition of 1885.
