CRASH IN EGYPT. MACHINE A TOTAL WRECK. (Received 9 a.m.) CAIRO, July 18. Mr H. L. Brook, the young Melbourne Centenary race pilot, was not injured when he crashed at. Mersa Matruh while attempting a record flight from Lympne to Capetown, but his machine was completely wrecked. Lack of petrol compelled him to land at Mersa Matruh. He failed to locate the aerodrome in the darkness and descended a quarter of a mile away.
