(Per press Assoclation.-~*Go'f} , ijrFlght. 3 • WELLINGTON, This Day.
■ Dr. E. Kidsoh, Director of Meteorological, Services, left Wellington for Auckland yesterday en route for. England and Europe:; He wilL attend two meteorological conferences, one of these being the Empire Meteorological Conference' which is to be held in London. It will be attended by meteorologists from all parts of the Empire. One of .the main subjects for consideration in the London Conference is that of : Imperial aviation, in the successful conduct of which meteorology plays such an important part. Agricultural and seasonal forecasting will also 7 come under consideration at the conference.
Another important section will be devoted to marine meteorology. What is regarded as even more important is the International Conference of Meteorological Directors which is to take place in Warsaw. Dr. Ki'dson was elected a member of the permanent Committee of this conference in 1931.
Problems to be discussed; at this gathering cover a very wide range, among them being that of formulating an international code for weather messages. International co-operation in the interchange .of meteorological messages is very difficult, .as the requirements of different countries are so very diverse.
