The totalisator handled £4,207. as against £3,117 10/- on the second day last year, making the total for the meeting £8,549 10/-. an increase of £1,221 compared with last year. Events decided after going to press on Saturday resulted:— Westland Cup. of 100 sovs; one mile. —(1) Monipere, 7.13, 1; (4) White Doc, 8.8, 2; (2) Weatherly, 8.9, 3. Also started; Little Doubt, Earthquake. Lady Reno, Fast Acre, Marmora Lion. Two lengths each way. Time—l. 42. Summer Handicap, of 70 sovs: five furlongs and a half.—(2) Del ice, 7.10. 1; (1) Royal Sceptre, 8.10, 2; (3) Arrow Rose, 8.1, 3. Also started: Awamutu. Free Rose. Half a length each way. Time—l. 9.

Goldfields Hack Handicap, of 80 sovs one mile. —(1) Imperial Spear, 9.1, 1; (4) Rolhen, 8.3, 2; (5) Rose Val, 8.5, 3. Also started: Importance, First View. A length; two lengths. Time — 1.43 3-5.

Woodstock Trot, of 80 sovs; one mile and a half. —(2) Superb, scr, 1; (5) Myra Chenault, scr. 2; (1) Ataura King, 36yds, 3. Also started: Isobel Derby, Minnetonka, Playwright. Half a length each way. Time—3,33. Country Welter Handicap, of 70 sovs; seven furlongs.— (1) Wise Choice, 9.2, 1; (2) Royal Amphora, 10.9, 2; UP Earthquake, 9.0, 3. Also started: Patrol, White Doc, Animated, Roderick Dim. A length; half a length. Time —1.30 4-5.

At a meeting of the judicial committee, A. S. Ellis, rider of Royal Amphora in the last race, was suspended for one week for interference with other horses shortly after the start of the race.
