CANCER RESEARCH
NEW ZEALANDER STUDYING. [Special to “Northern Advocate.”] PUKEKOHE, This Day. Dr. A. T. Begg, of Pukekohe, has almost completed a refresher course in obstetrics, etc., at Guy’s Hospital, London. He has also attended Mill Hill Cancer Laboratory and the Imperial Cancer Research Laboratory. Dr. Begg hopes to be able to put a little time in at some of the important clinics in Middlesex before returning to New Zealand and, if he is able to complete his itinerary, should reach his home town of Pukekohe about the end of January.
Dr. Begg reports that at the Wakefield West Riding Laboratory, the bacteriological and pathological stations involved the treatment of over one and a half million people each year, a number equal to the entire population of New Zealand. He has met a number of Otago University colleagues in London, all of whom seemed to be working in laboratories.
