There is a large attendance and the track is in good order. Results:— Whiteleigh Handicap, of 350 sovs; one mile and a half—(3) Sea Gift, 24yds (E. J. Smith), 1; (1) Teviot Downs, 24yds (Mitchell), 2; (4) New Metford, 36yds (J. Bryce, Junr.), 3. All started. A length; a length and a half. Time—--3.19.
New Zealand Derby Stakes, of 500 sovs; one mile and a half.—(l) Gamble (M. B. Edwards), 1;’(2) Subsidy (Doyle), 2; (6) Drag Harlan (J. Bell Jnr.), 3. ,-Boltaire was coupled with the winner. Won by 6 lengths; 3 lengths. Time, 3. 19 4-5. Courtenay Handicap, of 750 sovs; two miles.—(3) Worthy Light, scr (F. J. Smith), 1; (8) Sir Guy, 48yds (King), 2; (1) Silver de Oro, 24yds (McKenzie), 3. All started. A length each way. Time—2.43. Ellesmere Handicap, of 300 sovs; one mile and a quarter.—(l) Tempest, 12yds (J. Fraser, JmO, 1; (4) Muriel de Ox’o. 12yds (Doyle), 2; (15) Morning Sun. scr, (Fah'baix’n), 3. Cloudy Range was scx’atched. A length and a half; a neck. Time —2.42.
