BUSINESS QUIETER. [Special to “Northern Advocate.”] ‘ AUCKLAND, This Day. The Auckland .Stock Exchange has been rather quiet since last report, and less business than usual has been put through. At,, this morning’s call late quota-, tions were generally maintained, but buyers seemed inclined to adjust their limits to meet sellers’ ideas of values. Banks and insurance showed virtually no change, and Government 31 per cent stocks were again off the list of quotations. Recent firmness in British Tobaccos continues, and after a sale at 41/7 the market stood between 41/3 and 42/. Colonial Sugars were quoted ex div. from £74 10/ to £76. In the mining section Worksops were in demand at 3/, with no sellers, and Mossy Creek were asked for at 1/9. • Noon Call. At the noon call to-day the following sales were recorded;—Bank of New Zealand (2), £2 9/-; New Zealand Insurance, £3 9/-; New Zealand .Guarantee Corporation, 5/5; Renown Collieries, Pres. (2), 2/-; Bycrofts, £2 13/-.
