A BAD CASE
TWO YEARS’ GAOL
(Special to "Northern Advocate.”) AUCKLAND, This Day.
For indecently assaulting a female child at Henderson Valley, John Alexander Riley (Mr. Sullivan was this morning sentenced by Mr. Justice Reed to two years’ imprisonment. He had admitted the offence. Counsel said that the evidence disclosed that Riley was living at the home of the child’s mother. Apart from this offence he had an unblemished record. His Honour said that it was a bad case; it almost approached a case of ircest. Prisoner had be -n living at the child’s horn; Since its early years, and after attempting to debauch an older sister he had interfered with the younger, who was 10 years of age.
