SAFETY OF PEDESTRIANS
10,000 LONDON CROSSINGS (British Official Wireless.) (Received 9 a.m.) LONDON, September 13. The Minister of Transport, Mr. L. Hore-Belisha, has decided to increase the number of pedestrian crossings in London as one measure of reducing the risk of street accidents. At present there are 2000 of these crossings in the metropolitan area, and these are to be increased to 10,000.
