FALL OFF BRIDGE
BOY, BIKE AND CAN OF CREAM. ACCIDENT AT LIMEBURNER’S. A nasty accident occurred on the Limeburner’s Creek railway bridge on Thursday morning, when a boy slipped into the creek, with his Dicycle and a can full of cream on top of him. The boy is Charlie Shepherd, aged 15, son of Mr arid Mrs N. C. Shepherd, of Kioreroa. The boy was going to school and was carrying the can on the handle bars of his cycle. Across the bridge, the boy . was wheeling the bicycle on the planks provided for the convenience of foot traffic, and was walking on the sleepers.
Somehow one of his shoes' became tangled in one of the railway fittings, and before he knew where he was he had fallen into the creek, with the bicycle and the can clattering after him.
Fortunately, some men noticed the boy’s predicament, and assisted him ashore, and later helped his father to retrieve the bicycle and the cream can. The boy is hone the worse for his fall.
This is the second time a boy has fallen with his bicycle off that bridge.
