TAKAHUE
Work On The Saddle. Relief workers have been busy working on the Takahue side of the Broadwood Saddle and the work is now nearing completion. It is to be hoped that work on the other side will be continued so that an all-weather route may be provided from the Hokianga county through Takahue to Kaitaia. Mr A. Wright has sufficiently recovered from his recent indisposition to make his usual monthly trip to Auckland to attend the meeting of the, Crown Lands Board. Bible Class Social. The Takahue Presbyterian Bible Class held a social evening in the hall on Monday last. Opportunity was taken to welcome Miss Kirkwood, seeset ary of the Bible Class movement. During the evening Miss Kirkwood addressed the gathering. Items were given by Mr R. Haggard. The evening was spent In playing games. Ping Pong Club. At Tuesday evening’s ping pong practice, Miss Fima Rogers, the presentholder of the President’s Cup, played two ehallenge matches. She was challenged by Airs R. White and by Mrs A. White and won both matches, gaining four more points towards final possession of the cup. The closing night for challenges is next Tuesday. The other members of the club spent the evening playing ladder matches in an effort to find the best twelve men and the best eight lady players to play the first of the intor-clnb matches against Kaitaia. Club on Friday evening.
