WELLINGTON, This'Day;The New Zealand Alliance, at itspannual meeting • reaffirmed its opposition to the redistribution of licenses, jt decided to ask 'the Government that -nolicense districts be not subdivided and merged into licensing districts, as was done at Ashburton.
The meeting also decided urge upon the Government that the consump- ; tiou of liquor by any person in charge of a motor car be deemed an offence, and that hotels should have: only ono bar, and that this should be the ohly place from which liquor should be’supplied. Further, all golf, bowling and similar clubs, and all cabarets and dance balls should be subject to inspection in the same manner as licensed premises, with a view to eliminating the illegal sale and consumption of liquor.
