NEW REGULATIONS MARKETING METHODS. OPERATIVE OX AUGUST 1. *Per Press Association.—Copyright.) WELLINGTON, This Day. A statement "was made in the House of Representatives yesterday by the Hon. C. E. Macmillan, Minister,of Agriculture, regarding the new dairying regulations. Air Macmillan said the new marketing regulations arranged between the Dairy Board ahd the Importers’ Association in England , had lately been under consideration and discussion by the board, with particular reference to that portion dealing with f.o.b. sales. , Having regard to the fact that some difference of opinion had existed regarding the question of f.o.b. sales, and that the intention was that the regulations should become operative on and after August 1, the Dairy Commission had made a special inquiry and had advised that, in its opinion, the regulations should become operative as proposed. Both' markets steady. . GHEE BUTTER'TRADE. BIG CONSUMPTION IN INDIA. “MANY MILLIONS OF POUNDS." (Special to "Northern Advocate.”* AUCKLAND, This Day. “There is a market of many millions of pounds there," said Mr A.G. Lunn, president of the Auckland, Chamber of Commerce, at a council meeting, referring to consumption of ghee butter' in India, A letter was received from the Department of Scientific and Industrial Research, which stated that it had obtained some samples of ghee butter marketed in India, and had arranged with the Dairy Board to manufacture some for shipment. The Dairy Commission was to undertake a thorough investigation of the possibility of developing the ghee trade in India and throughout the East, while the Dairy Research Institute was investigating its manufacture. It was decided to send a- copy of the letter to the Associated' Chambers, Mr Lunn said that the inherent difficulty in the transporting of butter would disappear, because ghee butter did not need refrigeration. “As a chamber," he said, “we would be wise 4

The Auckland sitting of the Dairy Commission was brought to a conclusion yesterday. ’ During the sitting, which commenced on July IG, the commission heard evidence. from 30 witnesses on many aspects of the dairy industry, including internal and external marketing, shipping, quality, factory .practice, overlapping of cream collection, cold storage facilities, grading, financial situation, and methods of improvement, lii addition, evidence was heard on the pig-raising industry and the bobbv calf trade;
