A BRILLIANT DESIGNER.
One of London’s most bracing and attractive people is .Mrs G. E. Calthrop, the possessor of the brilliant imagination which has conceived and designed the costumes and dresses for Noel Coward’s spectacular plavs. 8h? has a quirk mentality, clever wit and extraordinary wisdom, She and Noel Coward are close friends and it is often said that without her stimulating companionship his plays would have lacked a certain amount of artistic quality. Tn fact, it was in a scarlet, and black Chinese room designed, decorated and painted by Mrs C.althrop, that ho wrote most of his early plays. Mrs Calthrop has many interests apart, from designing, the chief of them Irein,g aviation, at which she is extremely proficient.
